Refrigeration Manual

The term 'refrigeration manual' could mean different things to different people.

Are you looking for a textbook that will introduce you to this industry?

The 5th edition of "Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology", ISBN 1401837654, is the best book of this type that I've seen.

You can find it for sale on amazon.com, and there's a brief review of it on our HVAC Book page.

If you're looking for a manual that provides detailed scientific and technical information about industrial refrigeration systems, "Industrial Refrigeration Handbook" by Wilbert F. Stoecker, and "Principles of Refrigeration", by Roy J. Dossat and Thomas J. Horan, both provide a wealth of information, and are available at amazon.com.

If you prefer Trane's refrigeration manual, it's available through the Trane Literature page, and Copeland's manuals are available from Emerson Climate.

Are you looking for a refrigeration manual for a specific make and model of specialized equipment such as a modern ice machine, granita-slush-fcb machine, soft serve ice cream machine, transport refrigeration equipment, blast freezer, etc.?

The components in the equipment may all be standard refrigeration machinery, but the solid state controls will probably require detailed instructions, so the best thing you could possibly do is get the service manual for the machine from the manufacturer.

You might also want to take a look at our free on-line e books.

Our free 10 page Refrigeration and Electrical Troubleshooting Chart is also reprinted from a military manual.

Our Air Conditioning and Refrigeration System Evaluation Manual has cycle diagrams and guidelines for evaluating the pressures, temperatures, and operating characteristics of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, including air and water-cooled chilled water systems.
