True Refrigeration Equipment

I've worked on a number of different models of True refrigeration equipment, and it has all been excellent quality.

I've never encountered any cooling capacity problems that weren't caused by either a lack of maintenance, or a simple component failure.

The cabinets, interior panels, doors, hinges, and insulation are made from good materials, carefully assembled, and they're durable enough to last for many years.

The electrical and mechanical components are high quality, and from major manufacturers; so you should be able to find replacements at your local parts wholesaler when you need them.

You should also be able to locate the parts you need for your True equipment by visiting their web site, www.truemfg.com.

If you own True refrigeration equipment and are retro-fitting from R-12 and R-502 to newer refrigerants, be sure to follow the refrigerant and compressor manufacturer's instructions, and contact True for any guidance they might have.

We have retro-fitted a number of R-12 systems to R-409 after leak repairs.

It has worked fine, with only a slight difference in operating pressures and temperatures.

On older R-12 and R-502 units, as compressors fail we are changing over to R-134a and R-404a.

We use #4 capillary tube, and occasionally we have to experiment until we get our pressures, temperatures, superheat, and subcooling in the normal range when the unit is at about 7° above set point.

If you're looking at some competitive bids, and the best price and warranty you're being offered is for True refrigeration equipment, go for it.

It's fine equipment, and as long as you take care of it, it should run trouble-free for years.

I hope this page has helped, and please, feel free to contact us with any specific HVAC questions you might have, including questions about refrigeration on Guam, or air conditioning on Guam.
